Halloween Bingo: Printable Cards and a Word Caller
Print a set of unique Halloween bingo cards, then call the words from this page. Every card has a picture next to each word, so children who cannot read yet can play too.

Running it at a class party
A Halloween party in a classroom usually has about forty minutes and a room of children in costume who cannot sit still. Bingo works because it gives them one thing to look at. Print one card each, two cards per sheet on A4 or Letter is a good size for small hands, and hand out something to cover the squares. Candy corn and dried beans are the classics. Wrapped sweets work if you are happy for the counters to be eaten afterwards.
For younger children, read the word and hold up the picture on screen at the same time. The caller shows the emoji large enough to see from the back of a room on a projector. Older children can play with the pictures switched off, which turns it into a quick reading game.
How long a game takes
With 48 words and 24 on each card, a single line in any direction usually comes in somewhere around the middle of the list. A full card takes most of the list. For a party, play a few quick line games rather than one long full-card game, and keep a small prize for each winner.
Your own words
The list is editable. Take out anything too scary for your group, add your class's own costume ideas, or replace the whole thing. Cards need at least 24 words. Words you type yourself print without a picture.

How to play Halloween bingo
- Print the cards — Choose how many cards you need, up to 100, pick A4 or Letter and 1, 2 or 4 cards per sheet, then press Print. Each card has its own number.
- Hand out cards and markers — Give each player a card and something to cover the squares, such as candy corn, beans or coins.
- Call the words — Press Call a word. The page draws a Halloween word at random, shows it with its picture, and adds it to the called list. No word comes up twice in a game.
- Check the winner — When someone calls bingo, type their card number into Check a card. The page marks the called words on their card and says whether they have a line or a full card.
