Tile Fitter – Spatial Puzzle Game
Challenge yourself with Tile Fitter, a spatial puzzle game where you fit colored tiles into a grid. Drag, rotate, and place tiles to complete each level.
How to play
- Drag and drop tiles onto the grid
- Rotate a piece when it nearly fits but not in its current orientation
- Fill the entire grid to complete the level
Getting better at it
The instinct is to place the easy pieces first and deal with the awkward ones later. That is backwards. Awkward pieces have the fewest positions where they work, so placing them early costs you nothing in options — while a grid three-quarters full of easy pieces often has no legal home left for the difficult one.
Watch the gaps rather than the pieces. A single empty square stranded in the middle is usually fatal, because almost nothing fits it. If you can see a gap forming that no remaining piece matches, undo before filling more of the board.
Corners and edges constrain more than the middle does, so they are worth solving while you still have a full set of shapes to choose from.
What it is good for
Levels get progressively harder, so it works as a short break that scales with how much time you have — one easy level is a couple of minutes, a later one is a genuine sit-down. The drag-and-drop controls need no instructions, which makes it usable on a shared screen or by a student who has just walked in.
For a different kind of spatial challenge, Number Slide constrains movement instead of shape. Sudoku and Treasure Hunt lean on logic and deduction rather than geometry.
