How do I use the classroom spinner?
Choose Add names and paste your class with one name per line, then press Spin. With No repeats on, everyone present gets a turn before anyone is picked twice, and New round puts everyone back. Save the class to keep it in this browser for next time.
Is the student selection truly random?
Yes. We use the Web Crypto API (crypto.getRandomValues) for cryptographically secure randomness - the same standard used in financial applications. Every student has an equal probability of being selected.
Can I remove a student after they're picked?
Yes, for the round. With No repeats on, a picked student sits out until you start a new round, and they stay in the saved class. Undo last pick puts back a student picked by mistake, and Absent today skips anyone who is away without deleting them.
Can I save my class roster?
Yes. Name your class and click Save. Your rosters are stored in your browser and persist between sessions. You can save multiple classes and switch between them instantly.
Is this free to use in my classroom?
Completely free. No signup, no account, no premium tier. We built this for teachers because the alternatives were too slow, too ad-heavy, or required logins.
