How many cards to print

One per player, plus three or four spares. Spares matter more than people expect: someone always arrives late, someone spills a drink on theirs, and a child will want their own rather than sharing a parent's. Printing five extra costs a sheet of paper and saves the interruption.

For a large room, print in batches and keep them in stacks of ten. Counting out cards from a stack of a hundred while forty people wait is the slowest part of an otherwise fast setup.

Running the game

Cards are only half of it — you also need numbers called. The bingo caller draws 1–75 and keeps a record of everything already called, so a disputed line can be checked against the actual history rather than someone's memory. For the 90-ball game played as Housie or Tambola, use the bingo caller for 1-90 instead; the card layout and the calling range are both different.

Agree the winning pattern before the first number goes out. A line, four corners, and a full house are all normal, and half the arguments in a casual game come from nobody saying which one counted.
