Months of the Year Wheel Spinner
The months wheel picks one of the twelve months at random, which suits planning games, calendar practice and any rotation that runs across a year.
Twelve slices, January through December. Spin and one month comes up.
It gets used most often for rotations that run long. Which month each family hosts, which month a team owns the newsletter, which month a shared task falls to you. Anything spread across a year tends to accumulate a quiet sense that the good months went to somebody else, and drawing them removes that entirely.
In classrooms it earns its place in calendar work. Spin a month and ask what season it belongs to, what holiday falls in it, how many days it has, what the weather does. It turns a rote list into something with a bit of suspense, which matters more than it sounds with young children.
Birthday games work well too — spin a month and everyone born in it stands up, answers, or goes first. Delete the months you do not need if you are only working with a term or a quarter.
Months of the Year Wheel Spinner — questions
Can I limit the wheel to a term or a quarter?
Yes. Delete the months outside your range and the wheel rebalances across what is left. A trimmed wheel is saved in your browser for next time.
Can I use it to assign all twelve months without repeats?
Turn on "Remove winner after spin". Each month drops off the wheel once drawn, so twelve spins assign every month exactly once.
Is the month picked genuinely at random?
Yes. Every month on the wheel has an equal chance on every spin, drawn with the browser's cryptographically secure random generator before the animation begins.
